The TAE F404 / F414 project was the delivery of two operation test cells with the ability to test both engines. With a very aggression design and implementation schedule, Yanos Aerospace was able to deliver 2 full functional test cells in under 18 months.
The Installation included the conversion of a decommissioned test cell to test both F414 and F404 engines. Yanos Aerospace supplied the control system, data acquisition system, as well as all engine interface hardware. The project also included the upgrade of YAI's previous F404 installation to include F414 testing capabilities.
As F404 engines were still in production, the test cell downtime was kept to a minimum to accommodate the needs of the Royal Australian Air Force.
